Classic Canes from Charlie
« on: May 14, 2013, 11:09:24 am »
Traded Charlie out of some of his top shelf cane shafts at the classic and didnt waste any time putting feathers on em. These arrows were super easy to build and I owe all that to the work Charlie put into them before I picked them up. I love how durable a good set of caney's are and look forward to many hundreds of shots with these arrows!! Nothing pretty, but a solid workhorse set of shooters.

Charlie is stringstretcher and he does topnotch work preparing and straightening them. He was setup down by the creek.

The arrows ended up spined around 60-65 and they averaged 630 grn.

Charlie was camped next to me and two doors down from Mr. McGuire's bus. Japanese arrow bamboo comes by it name honestly and Charlie perfects that.  ;)

Thanks all.  I had plenty of bamboo with me, and brought most of it home with me.  I learned a lot from a couple of very special people to me on working up cane, and they get the credit.  It is fun to work with these materials as they are like bows, you never know what they will end up like until you finish one.

Thanks for all the nice comments.
