every day carry knife

havent had much knife or bow time the last couple weeks. but ive been pickin away at em when i can
7-3/4 o.a.l  3-1/4 blade forged from a nicholson file
etched to show quench line
salvaged curly maple from a pallet at work
perfect every day carry size imho
sorry for the cruddy phone pics. waitin on a new camera

Ive got a short 2 inch bladed neck knife I carry... take pics tonight..

Kevin that looks just like the knife you gave me buddy, AWESOME knife. Stupid sharp and the slight handle is perfert for me. I carried it on every bow hunt I took last season......and used it!

Kevin that is a real nice lookin' knife.  I've often wanted to do one out of a file but have no idea where to begin.  Do you heat the file any during your process?

to answer your question  yes this knife was heated to 1500 f + and hammer forged to 85-90% of its shape
if ya got the urge to make a knife out of a file id be happy to coach ya thru it

Be sure to anneal it if you wanna grind it at all...

Nice looking knife Kevin.  You need any more curly maple or curly looking black walnut I have some.  Also have some nice looking cherry burl off my hunting property. Let me know.
