Dogbane
« on: October 31, 2007, 06:57:24 am »
Was thinking of trying to make a bowstring out of dogbane. Is this a good time of the year to harvest it? Also, once cut, is there a time table on when it should be used by? Any reference materials would also be appriciated. Thanks.

This is THE time. I like to cut it after the leaves have fallen off, but before it stands there dead too long. If you keep it in a dry place, the stalks will last for years without any problems.

Progress might have been all right once but it's gone on for far too long.
