Here it is, I am finished and have shipped out this morning.  I hope my recipient likes it, this was the first bow I have made from a stave and I actually thought it was easier than working with boards.  It is Kentucky Coffee Bean with a Cherry bark backing, it has White Oak overlays and a Beaver tail grip.

Thanks she came out pretty good.  Has about 1" of set for now, and around 50# @ 27".  Yep the wife was complaining because of the mosquito's and gnats.

I got the bow bending within 1" of target draw length and right at the upper end of my victims weight range then shaped the handle and rounded all the corners. The tips need a little work to lighten them and smooth out the nocks. I plan to shoot the tar out of it tommorow.

I am still working on the finish....  getting....closer.....almost......done.
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?

Paint touch up done.
Six coats of Tru-Oil down so far.
First steel wooing done.
First coat of the next series of Tru-Oil down...

Snake skins are looking good.
But then I haven't bent it yet since adding the skins.
Though I do feel better about the skinning this time than last.

Tick Tock...  :)
