Well, I think that I've stumbled upon my Trade Bow candidate. While peeling osage for bow blanks, I happened upon this one. Under the bark a fireball of beauty emerged. There were plenty of knots but not in "friendly" places so I cut the stave in half. The pics don't show well how deep red, this stave is. I chose the left side of the stave on one half and the right side of the other half then flipped one of them 180 degrees. Now I can splice them back together. Yep, a bit of trouble but I didn't want to throw such a colorful osage piece into the wood burner. We'll see how it progresses....
