Pearly, Pike it 2 inches on each end, sinew the back with it reverse braced 4-5 inches, and paint it black...

I shot it 20-30 more times at 27" and its just too smooth and handy to not complete and pass on to ******  *********. I got one side skinned and heading down to do the other now. Osage, Prarie rattlers and sheep horn. Thats my kind of recipe!

Here is my 1st choice for my trade bow. The cleanest, seasoned osage I have. Only one small pin knot in the whole thing. Some natural wiggles to clean up but nothing crazy. 61" overall.  I thinkin R/D.

Looks like I better get on it,you boys have been busy,mine is still standing in the corner where I left it Sunday.Guess I will get back on it after I get the rowdy little scouts out of the shop. Looks good to me Chris.Standing straight is good, ;)keep repeating that,it may help but I doubt it. :-\ :-\

I ordered my stave from Dean Marlow, just waiting for it in the mail. I decided not to use the vine maple. I'm going with some osage instead. We'll see what the wood tells me to do but I'm thinking of doing my first static recurve.

Figured I may as well chime in. I'm working a couple of really clean, straight grained Maple boards right now and I may pull out a slippery elm stave I've been seasoning. The one maple board is 72" long and 2.5" wide. So I'm going with a pyramid style bow, 5" handle, 1.5" fade out from the 1.5" wide handle and then it tapers down to .5" tips. The other is 66" over all, 5" handle, 1.5" flade out to the 2.5" and then tapers down from there to .5" tips. I'm gonna use the left over wood on the board to glue on a handle to beef it up a little bit. I'm hoping to get them cut out this weekend and start floor tillering. I hope to post up some pictures at that time.

Great progress guys.......  Drums I need a turkey bow :)

Takin it slow on this piece of Yew.........  man I hope I don't wreck it..........  got a few knots to mess with and a bumpy back but man it's a pretty piece of Yew.....  hope I can pull it off for my victim   :-\
