« on: January 15, 2013, 07:19:06 am »
Ok 2 Questions 1 do I take the dflex out of the far end Or leave it be... To do I skin, use the skins I have, or find new skins?... This will be my TG trade bow If it were to show up on your doorstep what would you like???

I would imagine the skins will darken with finish applied What say you???

Not much to add to what's allready been said. By even reflexing it, it will be easier to tiller with all those sexy curves.

Blue Racer, Rat Snake, or Copperheads would be my choice of skins given the thin width and snakeyness.

I would even out the reflex but not give it too much, maybe 2" to 3". Then tiller it out completely and shoot it at least 100 times before adding the skins. I like snake skins on snakey bows. The type of skin is up to you. Any would look great.

Keep that skin and put on some copperheads like will said. I wouodnt use the exotic unless you need it for backing.

I think that skin is gonna be awful thick for that stave. It will be tough to get the skin to move side to side enough to conform to the flow. And I'm with Will that stave should have copperheads and be held onto. Not sure I could give that one away! Very nice looking start on that bow, though. What specs are ya shooting for?

That is one sweet stave! For sure reflex and cook the belly cuz narrow sage loves to be cooked some. If ya got some I would use narrower skins and save those wide ones for another bow... Brian
