This also has a fair number of pin knots and things but they were ignorable.    I've seen some domesticated apple wood and I recall it being darker color.

this was really an unusually straight specimen and it caught my eye immediately on the edge of a power cut.   Carried it a long way.  It was fruiting at the time and I bet some dear really had a feast with what was left on the ground afterward.  Its a fine shooting bow.
