Glass Buttes Knapp-In Dates?
« on: January 08, 2013, 01:25:39 am »
When is everyone heading to Glass Buttes for the Knapp-In this year? I know it was normally the last week in March but because Easter falls on the last weekend in March was wondering if that is going to change it or no. Need to know so I can get some time off of work to go down there.  Happy New year everyone.

I'll see what I can find out for you, A few years back it fell on Easter weekend as well and things still went on as normal.  Easter Sunday I was up on a hillside at dawn watching the sun come up and having some prayer time. Then from far down the draw I heard the distant sound of bag pipes toning up with Amazing Grace. Was awesome to hear it echo through the canyon.

It's still scheduled through Easter Weekend.  I expect I'll go back home on Good Friday, though.

I am going to try to go this year.  I want to get with Emory Coons again.  I have some gator jaw bones, a snake skin, and a gator head, and hide for him.
I know it can be some crazy weather at that time though.  Would like to meet with you Keenan, and Juniper Junkie, and others also.  But I definitely want to get some one on one time with Emory!  I will have to give him a call and see what I can arrange.  It also depends on how my finances are also.   ;)

Ben,
The official dates for Glass Buttes are 23 thru 31 March.  You might want to look at the write up PSK has on it which includes a contact email address.  Do a search for Puget Sound Knappers, click on Events, then 2013 Event Schedule and then Glass Buttes, which is the 4th one down.  Right now, I'm planning on heading down on the 21st and probably back home on the 29th.
