Nice going Pappy. Six yards is getting close, not easy to get that close to any deer and get off a shot undetected. I know what you mean about late season being tough after all the gun hunters seasons here in Illinois it gets tough here too. I've been out 4 days in the last two weeks since the gunners are done and have seen nothing except for three that came under my stand one day about 2 minutes after darkness fell. Congrats on that one, be some good eating there.

Wow! Way to go.  Late season deer are few and far between.

Pappy:  Backstrap and eggs!  Would like to see the arrow and point if you have a picture!  I know about how tough it is after gun season.  Nice looking bow.  Have two elk hides in the salt, but you probably are not interested since you have so many hides in the freezer!  A/Ho Joe

Had a fleeting chance at one that size a couple nights ago, but they busted me messin' around putting something in my pack. I swore I checked around before moving. ???

Congrats Pappy ! When Mason and I get back your way we are going to pick your brain on how you guys get all those sub 15yd shots ! We gotta go back to deer school if we are ever going to get one less than 40yds. Like Joe said, post us a pic of the arrow and head if you can.

Darn. I really liked the Aunt Jemima stand.  It feels like something is missing from my holiday preparations this year not getting ready for the trip. They are calling for a bunch of snow tonight.  It should really start feeling like Christmas by tomorrow at this time.

Congrats Pappy ...thats the best eating deer there is imo. 6 yard shot with an osage bow. Does it get any better? I don't think so.

Merry Christmas and Happy  New Year all
