How can I figure out a good draw lenght for lever bows?

I got some lever bows in the making. I feel like I more ore less understand the layout, but I'm completely clueless as how to estimate an appropriate drawlenght for a given bow, or bow-length for a given draw.
Any good rules of thumb, formulas, tricks out there?

Are you saying to add up the bending limb length in one limb or both pat?

On Mollys, I measure the working limb plus lever to get a max draw length. Usually 17" working limb and 13" lever. Also 5" handle and 2" fades on each end. I typically can draw these to 31" With little string follow.

A good rule of thumb is that Moving limb length is twice the draw length. For example with a 28" draw a bendy handle bow would be a minimum of 56" or a bow with an 8" stiff handle would be 64". With bows that have a shorter working limb that part will need to be wider to accommodate for the extra work. Fiddler, although new to PA, has made many good molly type bows and knows what he's talking about.

I see. Fiddler, the way you go about it is you pretty much do the usual

drawlenght = total bending limbs / 2

but you count the lever as bending limb. Did I get that right?

Yes, the lever and working limb length together equal the draw length on a molly. cheers fiddler49
