Simple Osage finished. [Deer added]
« on: December 10, 2012, 07:28:49 am »
Been working on this for a few weeks,I usually don't get in much of a hurry but wanted to finishe it up before Hunting season clased, turned out a sweet shooter and I feel sure will get some time in the woods.Nothing special, just a clean /straight piece of Osage, guess that is special cause you don't find a lot of that. 51@26 /53@27/55@28. I draw 26 but like to take them out just so if someone else winds up pulling it I feel safe with that. It is 1 3/8 from fad to about mid limb ,other than a little side tillering I did finishing it up, then tappered to about 1/4 at the tips.62 inches n-n, deer horn tip overlays and a first for me a Jute handle wrap soaked in super glue then sanded.Finished with 6 coats of rub on tru oil.Stands straight and shoots where I look.I think I am going to like this one,Hope yall do. :) :)

Certainly does look like one to hunt with. Nice job on that osage bow Pappy, nothing simple about turning out a bow that nice.Thats some good shooting going on in those last couple pics, anything that shoots and bend that well deserves to be called king.

Another great bow there Pappy.  Did I ever tell you that when I grow up, I want to be just like you?  Love seeing that osage bend.  I am looking through some osage now to try and get a good piece split out and make my self another one this winter.  Man that does look nice.

Nice work Pappy.  That unbraced profile says it all.  Well, that and those arrows all bunched up together.  Long Live The King!

Hey Pappy, that's gorgeous, love the narrowarrow pass and the bellied grip. Really looks like it means business.
Looks like it spits 'em where you're lookin' too.

She sure is a pretty one, Pap! You outdid yourself on that one!!

Great looking bow pappy. This may be the straightest piece of osage I've seen you post up here.

That's a great looking bow Pappy.  Did you have any problem trying to tiller those straight limbs without any holes in them?   ;D
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left
