Hornbow update!

Three days ago, I applied the first layer of elk sinew to the back of my hornbow project. I waited until this layer(which was 2 leg tendons, and relatively thick)was visibly dry(it had turned its usual transluscent amber color). Then I hung it from the rafters in my garage. It sayed ther for two days in 90+ degree heat, with low relative humidity. When I got home from work today, it had gained another two inches of relflex and the reverse bracing string had gone slack. I think I will give it a final thin layer of sinew to smooth everything out. It feels fairly heavy now, and I don't need a 100# hornbow. Here's a new pic.

Looks really good.
Did you use bone or ivory between the horn strips?
How long can you stand to wait on the sinew to cure ?

I used a piece of beef bone between the horn stips. It's really hard to wait on the sinew. I think I might test the draw weight soon, before I add anymore sinew.
