Osage Selfbow
« on: November 22, 2012, 04:53:05 pm »
I finished this one a while ago but never posted it because of the lack of a good camera.  Anyway, here are some more cell phone pics.

The bow itself is osage with a few sapwood rings left on for looks.  The tips overlays are zebrawood, and the handle wrap is hemp courage soaked in ca glue.

The bow is 48in. Ntn and pulls 23@23. I pulled it back pretty far to insure its safety for kids. There is a nice crack in one limb, but it is not a big deal.

Another great looking bow Dave!
I like how you are leaving the sapwood on some of your osage bows. How hard is it chasing the ring of sapwood..?

Nice job on that one! Your model has great form. It looks like it fits him just right!!
