one step closer to some primitive hunting
« on: November 18, 2012, 01:41:01 am »
finished my primitive side quiver today. it's made from axis deer hide that i tanned with wattle bark. it is stitched with rawhide lacing. you can't see the stitching cause i made it inside out then turned it when the stitching was done for a cleaner look.
the strap adjustment is made by a series of slits cut into the top strap and an antler toggle tied with rawhide on the bottom strap.
it's finished with duck fat for a weather resistant finish.
overall i'm very happy with it. it looks nice and is very practicle at the same time.

one step closer to going back in time.....

Very nice, Clint and a very effective style hunting quiver.
