Broken-nose Doe

I shot my first rifle deer of the season Saturday morning, 110# live weight doe.  She seemed normal in every way until I looked at her head.









She must've broken it at some point, kind-a looks like she was a boxer.  Not sure how a deer would break their nose.  I'm glad to have her though.

wierd.  Maybe she got clipped by a car or something.  Good job on putting her down.  Should be some excellent meat.

Man, she might have made an interesting mount.  Too late now I'm sure.  I shot her up pretty bad as she was quartering pretty hard and I tried to slip a bullet in front of her ham and didn't pull it off like I'd hoped. :-[

I was talking about a Euro mount George.  As long as you didn't hit her in the head it would work.  I'm glad you are feeling good enough to get out there and put some meat in the freezer.  Get back out there and get a buck.

She must have just been an amateur boxer, she doesn't have the trademark cauliflower ears yet  ;)

I know Clint, but once the yotes are done with the carcus I'll just have to see if the skull is where I can still find it.  If I'd thought about that when I was out there I sure could have done it.  Good to hear from you Cam, watched your trilam video last night.  Love that northern accent. :)  I will be trying a laminated bow here soon.

And thanks, I'm a lot better.  Every now and then it feels like I have an alien under my ribs trying to claw his way out but other than that it isn't too bad.  Been 5 weeks today.

Its amazing the amount of punishment a whitetail can survive. I would have thought she would starve before that healed up enough to eat.
