Wytch elm. 191 cm. Brown leather dye. 65#-28. B-50. Rare viking longbow. Sold to a friend of mine, the skipper on the replica "Osebergskipet" build in Tønsberg Norway and finished in summer 2012.

Sidenock at the upper limb and no nock at the other. Just a knot. :-) Viking style. These bows were build in yew and elm. The original in yew was a real monster. 140#. 40/33mm in cross section. Thats a fat bow. :-)

Is that the bow type that doubled as a ski pole hence the strange nock or am I thinking of the laminate bow that had spruce on the belly and birch on the back.
Old Scandinavian bows are very interesting.
