Bradley's Blue racer bow
« on: September 10, 2012, 09:31:56 pm »
Finely finished up my nephew' bow. It's 21# @20", and also made so when he gets bigger, he can hunt with it. It's 40# @ 28". It's an ash bendy handle, with the blue racer road kill he found. Hope ya all like, I know he is gonna love it.

Thanks fellas! Ya Rich, that's for sure. Hopefully he'll be hunting before too long. That's up to his dad to watch out for all the neighborhood pets. ;D This was a fun bow to work on. My first snake skin, and the best part was Bradley found the snake, and it was his idea to put it on a bow. Now I just need to make him some arrows.

Turned out real nice, Dave! I know why he loves it!

I like it.   The skins look cool too.
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?

He's in good hands then.  I love your arrows.  Hafted up a flint point on one tonight.  That cane is so thin I'm having to rework the base on some of my points to get them to work.  They shoot like darts out of my little sinew osage bow.

Beautiful bow, love the snakeskin.  Good work!

Thanks everybody. So I used the belly side of the snake skin as well as the back. I wasn't sure how that was gonna work, but it turned out fine. I'll go give it to him this weekend, maybe post a couple pics of him shooting it.

Nice smooth bend on that bow Dave, that young man will surely enjoy shooting that one and the skins really set it off. Nice going.
