not a typical "pyramid bow" - narrows very little middle of the shoulders and then sharply to the peaks.
nocks - bone
Finish - 1x green stain, red stain 1x, 2x walnut stain, handle - linen, last 20 cm of the limbs are painted with a black stain. They have 2" reflex, which in tillering dropped to 1". The shoulders are heat one time, and tips 2 times. The bow is almost entirely sapwood, because of a crack that runs through the entire length of the bow, after left alone in the handle. This does not prevent the bow, as osage tolerated very defects of wood.
The lower limb is slightly less, which is outside the rules, but there is a very unpleasant "knot" to change very mechanics of the shoulder.
Persona of Chinese origin cook at a nearby restaurant ... it was convenient for the photo session.

Nice bow. I would take the handle wrap off and fill that crack with super glue until it won't hold any more. It then ceases to be a crack and will never cause you a problem.

I disagree with calling the crack a defect.  I would call anything that would lead to the final failure of the bow a "defect".  Those cracks running with the grain don't even effect the performance of the bow.  Defect, no.   Character, YES, YES, YES. 

That bow must have been a tough tillering job with all the knots, lumps, cracks and what have you.  You really did a great job on this bow, I congratulate you on a job well done.  I bet any one of us on this website would be excited to have a bow like this one.  Thanks for posting this to share with us, }|{opukc.

Never had a problem with a crack running with the grain in any of my bows, one bow has 13 of them. Perhaps none has been a problem  because they are all filled to the brim with super glue and were before I finished tillering them.

Another thought; that is a fine looking bow, in my opinion the cracks don't add character and detract from the overall appearance of the bow, just like leaving cut marks from a rasp or file.

Then again, my wife says I am pick, picky,picky.

Crack is not a problem, but it gave more SAP. As the bow is symmetrical in chentar, I will think only turned limbs.

Very Nice! I really like the contrasting colors of the sapwood and heartwood, I've never tried leaving any sapwood on osage but it seems like we're seeing it more and more these days.
