Thank you all for good words :). I'm very happy that you like my work. This bow shold have been riflex-riflex bow but obviously i used too much sinew and the belly of the bow is lightly compressed. This amount of sinew i used is probably enough for hornbow  ;D .1 layer of sinew for ligh bow would have been enough.

Wagnerwood, these skins were  salted. But i have no idea where you could get them. If you lived in Europe i could send them to you. I have ostrich farm very near. But to send them to America is to complicated. To send them to you i should dry them before. I'm sure that there in your big country you can find a lot of similar farms  :).

Very nice looking bow,she should love that,love the way the skin looks and the sinew job is excelant.  :) Can't wait to see it all finished up. :)

Whatever made you think of using ostrich leg rawhide?  I can think of 100 people on here that wish they'd have thought of it.  Very nice looking bow.  And for your second, your sinew job is fantastic.  It's obvious to me that you took your time on this bow.

Another great Bow! I got a some questions though ;)
What kind of Ash did you use here? Is this common Ash / Fraxinus excelsior, somewhere from Europe? I am really anxious to know how it responds to sinew backing. I thought it would not be strong enough in compression to handle sinew backing.

I really hope i am wrong though, still got some Austrich sinew and dried Ash around...
