Wild garlic picking??

Not sure if it is the same, but I pick Ramps in the spring.

I like them okay, but my wife LOVES them. We usually have enough feeds until our sweat starts to stink and call it enough. Lots of people sell them up here, a small bunch is about $6. Still not sure why you would pay for them when they are in almost every hardwood lot around. I know in Quebec they are protected because the resturants go crazy for them as they are the first true green vegtable here after the snow melts.

My boys like digging them during turkey hunting but they won't touch them, but that is the same for all vegtables.

I look for them a lot actually. I love them and I cook with them all the time. A little bit goes a long way with wild garlic.

Here is a batch the kids and I went picked.  It has the best flavor and keeps for a long time.

the wild garlica around here are smaller than pearl onions - I think whatcha got there are domestic garlics gone wild.

very cool Cipiano.i love garlic and cook with it almost every night.my woman is a three time open heart surgery patient.garlic is heart healthy and keeps the blood thin.we eat it alot.i wish i could find it in the wild.does it taste the same?

Yep it grows wild in my field between my house and barn.

Ben, I am not sure.  I could be "ferrel" garlic, but it grows in small bulbs too and taste a lot different than store bought. 

seabass yes sir.  It is good for you.  No, it has a much better taste.

These I dug up and ended up with 3 quart size freezer bags full.  It is in pea size bulbs to small peach size.

These are the "seed pods."  They grow on the outer skin of the garlic cloves.  I just love nature.  When you pull the garlic up most of them stay in the ground for next years crop, but I dug some up and some came up with the cloves.
