2012 Central Oregon Bowyers Gathering
« on: May 22, 2012, 03:12:56 am »
Thank you Keenan and Dave for hosting another wildly successful Bowyer's Gathering. The weather was perfect. Attendance was up from last year and there were more families enjoying the event than ever. A special call out to Mike and Niki for providing much of the cooking for the potluck meals. I can't wait until next year's event.

Keenan, this is for you buddy: THE WEST RULES!

Our little tipi village by the meadow.

Show us how it's done Dave (PortlandFire)

At least someone here knows how to make a bow. Right John (Blacktail)

Who needs wedges when you got John!

Dave and his grand children - you can't start them out too young.

I bet Ronan isn't thinking about making bows. What do you think Weylin?

Looks like you all had a great time, I hope I can make your next one. It is fun to travel around and meet the different groups, kind of like cross polination.

Gordon, Thank you. Great pictures and I can't thank you enough for all your hard work and support. This gathering really is a team effort and without you,Dave Cheney, Dave H. and others like John & Niki and so many others this would not be possible.
Gordon and Dave were absolutely bow building machines while bouncing from person to person helping newbies tiller their bows. It was quiet impressive to watch. Thanks again for all your support for this event. I'll try to get some of my pics up soon

PS> Gordon, Next year I'll use a shorter and lighter arrow to give you more of a run for the championship :o

I Like it Steve, but I think it's more like an infesting then pollinating >:D

As long as you continue the practice of "warming up" your bow for 30 minutes prior to the shoot off I have no objection  >:D

It was a great time.  It was such a great group of people, I wish I had spent more time visiting and less time scraping.  Looking forward to next year!

Some more pics. (if I can get them inserted correctly this time).
