Looks like a Canada Goose to me. But it could be anything.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

yea thats what i was thinking but i wasnt sure because there wasnt any birds around ANYWHERE around and it was just strange how it just gently floated down and landed like 5 ft from me in my front yard. I do have some Canandian geese that stop here a couple days out of the week every year though.

If it fell out of a goose high in the air it may have drifted a few miles or so.

Goose feather.  One of the primaries.  Left wing.
Any critter tastes good with enough butter on it.

Pretty sure it is Canada goose.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

I would agree with the Canada Goose, theory.  Yep, use it on an arrow.  Or you could slice the thick part of the quill on a diagonal and fold the point up into the quill body, and wrap it, and run a thread, or sinew thong through the loop of the quill, and attach it to your quiver, either on the bottom, the middle, or top part.  Good Medicine there! ;) 8)   How do you cook those geese?  Everyone I hear talking about them, it is like eating a tennis shoe!  I have plenty of Canada geese in Montana.  Some say they just eat the breast meat, and pound the snot out of it, before cooking it.  I would hate to throw the legs away.  I like the thighs, and drum sticks best anyway.  I have Friends who used to hunt ducks, and just pop out the breast, and toss the rest.  I hate that! >:(  Anywho, that is pretty cool that it just floated to you.  What part of VA are you in?  Are you in a fly way?
