"Salt Rock" black locust recurve

This is bow for a good friend of mine. First idea with this stave was to made a warbow. My brother Pathfinder floortillered it and gave it to me to continue. It crysaled badly immediately after. To do not waste a stave I deicided to transform it to recurve bow for a friend. It is 73 ntn. It was little narrow (1 1/2") and I left it so long because of danger of owerdrawing. Finall draw weight is little over 50# at 30". Took no set after tllering and still have 4" of reflex, , not heat treated. Tiller could be better but there were some problematic, almost invisible spots. Had some chracter and one nice hole.
I still do not understand this early crysaling during warbow phase, never happened before.

What an intersting and beautiful bow Druid... as usual a piece of art
How does it shoot???
I don't think I've seen a curve that long before and I'm still trying to see what you are seeing in the tiller, looks good to me.. I love the look of it, very graceful looking bow!!!

I had it often in the past that a BL Bows chrysals badly (most only on one limb) after floortillering or first stringing.
I also don't know why that happend - maybe because of wrong seasoning?
Great bow - nice tiller - but the recurves won't help really on such a long bow :-)

Looks good. A little longer than most I've seen with flipped tips, but I think it adds pizzazz!!

NICE bow do you only make sapleing bows I do think I seen a stave bow from you. Not that theres anything wrong with that just wardering. I make hickory sapling bows now and then.

Very nice work druid. I've got some BL drying right now and I can only hope it turns out half as nice as that.
