Thanks for the complements everyone. Yes, this was a difficult bow to tiller!!! I have a sister split fro the same log that I plan on bringing to the classic and making a bow from this year........CANT WAIT!!!!!!

How was  drying the buckthorn for you? I found a nice little stave a few months ago, cut it , left the bark on and sealed the ends but it just checked like mad - right through the bark. It was kept in an rh of around 60 -70 % and cool so it made me scratch my head a bit.
Your bow is first rate. Excellent.

Have you ever considered spending some time polishing the horn tips to get a little more shine from them???  Good grief, kid!

You gotta hand it to this guy, he ain't shy about taking on a challenge.  There is Bow of the Month, Bow of the Year....well, I think we got a Bow of the Decade contender here ladies and gentiles.

Mike, if you  have a relatively thick stave, the back will check on you. Right after cutting the tree, I debark it, and thin it down to just above bow dimensions. I have not had any problems with this method. Thanks,

JW, the tips are actually some type of  tropical wood, not horn. I have never worked with horn before, but would like to in the future.
