Will's new Osage Handle Knife
« on: March 20, 2012, 05:36:17 pm »
I Spent some time working on Will’s new knife today.  The Osage handle was from his hundred year old Osage fence post, that might just go with his bow.

Hope he likes how it turned out.

Nice blade, and that aged osage looks pretty sweet  ;D  What kind of steel did you use for the blade?

Edit: I just saw the thread for the last one you made, I'm guessing it's the same steel from that big saw blade.  Nice work on that one too!

The blade was cut out this past weekend with Will's handy new Steel Band Saw cutting machine.  The blade comes from saw mill blade Shannon brought down from KY.

Sweet knife!  Is the old osage dark all the way down or does it yellow up once you get into it?

Man!!! That turned out SWEET! Thanks buddy :)

hobow- that Osage is dark all the way through! The farmer said it was put in the ground around the turn I'd the century. The fenceline was on the border of AR and TX. It made a real special bow and now an awesome knife!
