sinew???

ok i know this was asked before but my search has come up a big goose egg so here it is how many deer leg tendons does it take to do a long bow per say my favorite length 72" with 2 layers.and about 1.75" wide?i looked but have not seen it in my searches. thanks for the information.

I think 72" is a little long for a sinew backing.  Sinew has much more mass than wood so is more costly to cast than just wood on outer limbs.  as well sinew is used to relieve tension stress on shorter or recurved bows, very high stress designs.  the longest sinew backed bow i have heard of was 64 or 65 inches i believe.  unless you draw to 34 iches i would say chop it down a good 7 inches at least.  then it should take about 12-15 whitetail leg tendons for 2 layers.
