Gus about a week and a half ago I thought the ship date was the 4th also......and I was worried but then I looked and realized it wasn't.   Whew was I happy when I saw that.  LOL

Ok so here are the finished pictures of the trade bow I made for xxxxxxx I hope its enjoyed at its new home as much as I enjoyed making it and shooting it. ;D

It is a Vine Maple bow it draws xx #'s @ 2x" of draw, I stained it and applied 7 coats of tru oil and put a leather grip on it.

made a Vine Maple but it blew up like to see what a proper one will do :)

There's some fine looking bows being made on here. I'd be proud to own any of them. Mighty fine Vine maple bow there Elktracker! Finally got some time to finish up my entry (gettin down to the wire) Puttin this dogwood specimen through boot camp for the next couple days (wish me luck) then it's finish and ship it. Should just make it by ship day). 52 1/2" ntn - pullin to 25" on the full draw shot. Natural recurve on one tip the other heat bent to match. It's got a little natural deflex off one side of the grip so that made it a little tricky and gives it a slight asymmetry to it but I think it's a pleasing look. This is a branch from removal of a neighbors tree and I saved it from the chipper. It's getting a cedar bark handle wrap.

I was working on my red elm bow on the dock and watching the kids swimming today and I left it leaning against the boat lift when we went to the parade in town.  Storm came and I was thinking "oh bummer my bow is getting wet on the dock".  Got back and the bow was gone.  The wind was blowing into the bay so I was hoping I could find it there.  Lighting coming I climbed in the kayak to go look for it and I spotted it under the dock.  Phew.

How long do you think it will take for it to dry out after floating in the lake for a while?

Gaur, It shouldn't take more than a day or two. Water doesn't sink deeply into wood very quickly.

Gaur that was pretty lucky that you found it.......Got the finish on my trade bow today.  Will ship sometime next week.  Get the grip on and shoot it in some more and it will be good to go.
