i got home and saw a long box up by the door, got all excited and hurried up to the package, stupid blinds for my wife >:(, well that certainly sucks, guess I'll keep " patiently" waiting, Bub

Ok this is the trade bow that I received from Johnston.

Hickory, 64" ttt.  57# @ 28".  Wormy maple tip overlays, 12 strand fast flight string.  Shots good and looks very nice.  My pics dont do it justice.

And these are the two bows.....one each for my boys that I got from Johnston.

The first is Matthews, Hickory 50" ttt flipped tips.  17# @ 23" and has been drawn to 25"  String is artificial sinew.





Jacob has shot this bow for Matthew and it shoots great.  Just a little heavy for Matthew yet.  But not for long.  LOL

This second one is Jacobs...Sparkleberry 50" ttt, recurved and pulls 27# @ 23"  Bendy handle  (Johnston said this was his favorite bow ever made)  Artificial sinew string and the bow is heat treated.





Jacob has shot this...very fast.

I even shot this sparkleberry bow..it is fast and shoots where you look.  I like it.  I would love to have a full size version of this my self.  Sweet little bow.

Beautiful Bows and Wonderful Gifts Y'all!

Put the Dogwood through another Steam session, and she's finally beginning to line up.
I believe that for the first two Steam sessions the Handle area was still way to Wide to move much.
After thinning the handle down I'm getting much better results.
Still have another inch or so of lateral correction to get her lined up.
But she's not twisting in the hand any more during floor tiller.

Woo Hoo!!!  :)

HA!

I hear ya Coaster... Its back in the steam even as I type this.
Seems like I lost half of what I gained from the preceding steam session during the last go round.   ???

So I'm gonna flip the stave around so the handle is Inside and pull the offending limb into the caul this time.
The problem that I'm running into is that the back of the stave is crowned, making it a challenge to get good clamp pressure where I need it.
I spent some time this afternoon, testing different clamping methods to get the limb deflection needed to get her lined out.

Here's hoping.

Thanks for the kind words fellas. I was on medical leave so I had the time and actually
it was good physical therapy. Also found that building bows for others, especially kids,
is great spirit therapy.

James has his sons involved at an early age and I admire that. It was my privilege to
get to know the Baileys better and a pleasure to build bows for them.

This was just a test of the emergency Bowyer's Association this was only a test  >:D
