Mighty Fine looking Bows passing through this thread...

Finally have this Dogwood Bow beginning to bend.
But it has Confounded me getting her straight, started with about four inches of lateral deflection, still has about three so far.
She's got two good size pass-through knot holes, one in each working limb just outside the fades.
Sixty Eight inches, shotting for Sixty pounds at ???...
Right now she's got one and three quarter inch wide parallel limbs out to within eight inches of the tips, narrowing to half inch.

Have an Osage stave skinned waiting in the wings in case something goes amiss... :)

Here she is in the middle of the last rasp and scraper session.

Them are my Sled Dogs randman.
They're all tuckered out from a hard day at the office... ;D

In truth, the only time I have at the work bench lately is from 10pm to 2 or 3am.
They like to pile up and sleep around my feet while I work.
Six weeks old today, they sure are cute little buggers.

Wouldn't hurt for me to post a couple pics of the bow as it currently sits.  I have fought it all through tillering, have bent it in the handle twice.  Still, the string is just barely in the handle.  Interestingly, it shoots great.  I'm at the upper limit of my guy's weight range so I may intentionally thin the edges unevenly to try and induce a little twist to allow the string to come off the tips a little more squarely.  Then again, it shoots really nicely...







It is 65" n2n, but I'll keep the rest of the stats under wraps. :D

George she looks AWESOME!........Sorry to hear what happened Mullet.  Gus those pups must be pooped.  Also I apologize for not getting pics up yet of the bows I received from Johnston.  I am going to post them this week.  Been trying to get some good shots.

I hear ya Beetle...
Its the solid food, started pouring it to em last week and it flat knocks them out.

They make working at the workbench an adventure.
When they are passed out they are sweet little angles.
When they get a hot little puppy brawl going under foot, not so much... :)
With those little needle sharp teeth, its a wonder that Momma Dog will even come near em much less let em nurse...

They shortened a dozen Mulberry shoots that I am experimenting on making arrows out of yesterday.
Leaned the shafts against the workbench like normal, without thinking, walked in the house to get a Dew,
in five minutes they had chewed the end of every shaft... luckily the shafts were extra long. :)

Christmas in May!!A great big Thank You to Mat W ;D Walked back into my shop after lunch yesterday to find the post man had left me a pvc tube!!!
Whats inside but a beautiful Wiricki original fliped tip osage, sinew, snake :D Couldnt wait to get home and stretch the string.
You got it!! It shoots as good as it looks!! Thanks again Mat, she'll have a special place in the bow rack.
