15 min. urban survival bow
« on: January 27, 2012, 07:50:50 pm »
i know this ain't primitive, but it is resourceful, 1 1/4" sced 40 pvc pipe ended up 48" ntn and about 50-55# @ 22", surprisingly know handshock and shoot's where you look, used my elec stove top on hi to heat it and drilled a hole for one nock and cut the other on the bandsaw, 200# braided nylon cord for a string, ya never know what you can make a bow out of till ya try, i guess >:D, Bub

Nice bubby, I saw that kid on youtube. I'll be honest, i made one too, just for fun. What amazes me is that dude wrote a 300 page book about making bows from pvc ??? Ya 300 pages, it took about 30 minutes to make, how did he turn that into 300 pages. Anyway, it was a fun waste of 30 minutes.

I have made quite a few smaller ones for the kids....you can make one in 10 minutes and it gets them shooting fast and cheap.  My organization The Bowhunters of South Carolina has a rabbit hunt for the kids this coming week and we make and give out these bows to any child that needs a bow.
Happy hunting to all!
