Pretty an Diffucult (mook)
« on: January 26, 2012, 08:43:57 pm »
I won this pc of Mookite at the Bald Eagle knapin auction last summer an tried to get a few spalls out of it. Pretty fractured an has got lots of tuff spots. Managed to get this  blade out of it. I wished you could have seen the spall it came out of, I,m proud that I got this one this far, not a particular fancy point but made me work for every flake, had to do alot of thinking an setting up platforms an then I also got some lucky licks in also. Thanks for lookin, Later Bob

That red mook knaps like butter when it's heat treated. I've never spalled it, I sliced it with a saw to get as much out of it as I could. That's a fine looking point, Bob.

Nice point and red color Bob. I have a square chunk of yellowish-red mook I'm saving until I can get it cut. As much as it can cost, I want to get more than one point out of it. Rick B
