Love your setup.  Nothing you can not do down there.

You have to realize that this stuff ain't for just Pappy. Probably 100 or more bows are built in Pappy's shop each year. Over 50 at last years Classic.

Thanks Pappy!
Now I have to convert your photos, to something in my shop. :P
Bowmakers are a little bent, but knappers are just plain flaky.

Yes sir, a lot of bows are done at Twin Oaks.  I think my number this year is around 9 or so.

Now the really hard one is now in progress.  I've had alot of adult supervision so far however.  I told Pappy I wanted to do another Osage (seems every one I've made so far I've given to someone) and he gave me one from his special stash.  Gary helped with the layout along with Anthony and GregB, they were teaching me a few techniques.  He also showed me his method for heating and bending Osage ( I couldn't tell any difference in his technique and Pappy's as far as heating, because I'm still learning)  Gary also took time to show me his method for preparing leg sinew for backing the Osage.

Anyhow, it's always fun to work in the shop area.  A lot of bows have been built there over the years.  I've broke a few myself there.   ;D

I'm going to have to make the pilgrimage at some point.  I love those jigs there Pappy.

Yes Sir!

Nice looking Gear Sir!
Your outfit is one of my favorite setups and sites seen on PA so far, would love to make some shavings in Tennessee on day.

Cipriano is right...
And maybe further, perhaps there should be a Archer/Bowyer Pilgrimage Trail running from State to State.
Begin learning at one end a total Noobie and wind up teaching at the other end, an accomplished Bowyer...  :)

I may be getting too fer along my path to start down that particular trail in that fashion, but my sons might walk it...

Now where did I leave that copy of Jeremiah Johnson?
