These guys are 3/8" poplar shafts, like 6 1/2" to 7" long (I forget how much exactly) fletchings, the 4 target arrows are whipped, but I got lazy and just did the ends of the bodkin ones. They are over spined right now, probably 150 or so spined, very stiff. Finished in tung oil. I still need to spine them, but I figure I will wait till I get a spiner. I made the quiver out of a cardboard wrapping paper tube, some black stretch pants, and an old black leather purse my wife didn't want (I hope). The arrows are self nocked. The needle bodkins are from 3riversarchery. The whippings are coated with a clear type of tightbond trim glue.

4 target arrows:

The bodkin arrows:

Heres the quiver. It holds like 5 arrows, 6 at most. I did have an even dozen arrows, but broke two in the process of making em. I screwed up the fletchings on two and got pissed.

Those are super cool!!! You know if anybody has ever hunted with bodkin point, or were they strictly for war purposes? Those things look pretty wicked.

You wouldn't want to hunt with a Bodkin.  They are for piercing armor not hunting.

The image of the spiral wrapped fletches for some odd reason reminded me of fishnet stockings!   >:D  Sexy arrows!

Very cool, though they look more like small cruise missiles than arrows. ;D

Thanks everybody. It took me like 45 minutes to an hour for each whipping, I just got lazy on the bodkin point ones.
