Hazel longbow 50# 29"
« on: November 14, 2011, 12:03:42 pm »
This bow was made from my friend Max, owner of the heavy Gull Wing bow. It is hazel wood from Belyanica mountain, some 3 000 feet high. This sapling had almost 2" of reflex, now holds a little more than 1/2", not heat treated. 73"ntn, 1 3/5 wide on the widest place, 50# 29". It is feather-light bow: 430 grams. Great wood, easy to work and take low set. I got a lot of critics that my full draw pics could be more interesting than wooden wall every time so I will try to change that in the future, but not always.

Druid, you make excellent bows and your photography is top notch! I love the angle of shots were the bow is resting on the post, you get the whole bow in the shot in a well balanced rectangular photo. I've started using similar angles in my photos  ;)

Thank you Keenan very much.  :-[ I am not extra ordinary bowyer- my bows are just made with all my heart, maybe because that they are interesting...
Matt, yes, this angles allows to be visible everything on the bow, no place for hiding anything.  :)

Druid the angle of the full draw photo is so bad I can't see the tiller but sure looks like a lot of "stiff" around the handle
and with that ugly background it is hard to ....Kidding, just kidding ... absolutely gorgeous bow my friend very impressive
work.
As I have already told you the "stark" beauty of your bows kinda sets a primal tone that touches deep in the soul.
Or something.

Yup, another great bow, that style of tiller should be pretty fast.

Thank you my friends I will keep going! Unfortunatly, this was my last hazel.
My target is straw.
