Need Your Excuses
« on: November 10, 2011, 09:12:49 am »
This was inspired by Matt G. I thought I would make a book/pamplet from all the excuses I can come up with for missing or not shooting a deer/animal. I don't know if it will be publishable, but I'm going to try. So, this is what I'm asking. Can everyone come up with as many excuses as they can and type them here. Put as many as you can. I will use you screen name with them too, if it's ok with you. I would also like your input too

Excuses .... had a math teacher with a "pet" deer that he used to paint the antlers blaze orange during hunting season so it wouldn't get shot.
"he just wouldn't come out from behind the tree."

There's gotta be a million of those ;D The sun was in my eyes, blame it on the wind, he jumped the string, arrow was bent, hit a twig... I missed a big 8pt once, Sat staring at him for about 30 minutes, 15 yrds away facing me, he never moved, NO SHOT. Well after I came to the conclusion that I wasn't going to get a shot, and sat back down in my stand, he made one big leap to his right and started trotting. I missed him at about 8-10 yrds over his back...RUSHED THE SHOT >:(.

Had a blister on my anchor finger.
Had a hang nail and cut my lip.
The sun was in my eyes.
I just couldn't shoot such a majestic animal.... YEAH RIGHT
I had a hang over.... WELL MAYBE
My feet slipped on the red clay.
The tree limb I was sitting on broke.
My string broke.
My bow blew.
A bug flew in my eye.
The game warden was making too much noise. Believe me they will do it.
I'll dream up mor later.

Just look 'em in the eye.  And keep staring them in the eye.   >:(  Don't say nothing until they start to get good and twitchy.   >:(  This is long after they do that nervous laugh like you would when you realize the hitchhiker you picked up is a practicing cannibal.   >:(  No, you realllllly wait a long time.     >:(

Then say, "I got two words, 'splosive diarrhea."  :o

My glasses fogged, I hyperventilated, I couldn't draw the bow, I drew the bow too far and pulled the arrow off the string, my limb hit an overhanging branch, my limb hit the stand, my limb hit my knee, my string caught the chair arm rest, my arm hit the safefy strap when I drew, my arm hit the tree when I drew. my nock broke when I shot...and my personal favorite from my brother...I couldn't shoot because if the arrow passed through it would have gone through the side of the swimming pool.

Did not want to hit it, just scare it so somthing bigger could stand there ;D
what shot? Someone must have taken one of my arrows!!!
I did not miss the deer, I hit the fly that would have bitten him ...and that would have ruined the shot!
