string

ready to make or buy a string for my first bow.  will leather working waxed cord work, how many strands.  60# --70" hickory.. where do i go to buy the strings you folks talk about..

You can make a string quite easily. I make a modified version of a flemish string that takes less than 10 minutes to make using linen. you can get good quality linen at pyrosupplies, the unbleached 6 strand is the best.

 Linen makes a good quiet bowstring if you are gonna make selfnocks . I've gone to B-50 since my elbows and hands have been giving me fits so I can use a regular nock. Can't handle all the fine motor skills stuff anymore. :'(
