First bow done!
« on: November 01, 2011, 07:45:03 pm »
Hi everyone

I've finally finished my first bow!  She's not the prettiest but I learned a lot!  I'm not sure about the draw height, maybe around 40.  Total of 58 inches in length.  I know the tiller isn't perfect but I'm happy she's a shooter!  I've started on my second, from the same stave, going to be a 68"!  Maybe then a crossbow :D

I tried inserting pics but it said it was to big, so how do you guys do it :-[

Congratulations on making your first bow! It feels awesome right? As far as pics go, first resize your image to a manageble size that will fit on the screen, then create a photobucket account to load the pics onto. Then transfer the images to this post using the commands in your new photobucket account. Its kinda hard to explain but very easy to do if you futs around with it a bit. Good luck. :D

brent, I use a card reader to put on computer, the upload to photobucket, get an account it's free, and they automatically make the proper size, upload pics to photobucket, check the box on pics you want on the site, go to bottom of page and click action wanted box, then click on the full size message board/forums, then when you go to post just rigt click and hit paste, that simple :P, Bub

All right so here are some pics I quickly took.  I can see the tiller is off, but still came out looking like a bow :)

Yep, that's how it starts....you're workin on a first one...and got your eye on a second before the first is even done.....then it's a couple more..
and then you end up with a pile of raw and roughed out staves and bows of various stages of completion in every room of the house and all you can think about day and night is bows and.....aarrgghh! Somebody stop me!     I've seen it before. And there are lots of worse things to be addicted to.
Congrats and welcome to our nightmare! Looks like a great little shooter.

Keep up the good work.  You always learn something from each project and the deeper you dive into it, the more addicting it becomes.  You're off to a great start, now ya just gotta make one and head out to get one of those monster moose ya got up there!

Hooray!  Congratulations and all of that stuff.  Now, tell the little woman how much you're gonna miss her 'cause from now on she will find you at all hours of the night in your bow shop.

Good job.  Keep 'em coming.

A friend  and I always stack it on the insults when the other shows off a new bow.  The standard insult these days is, "Nice.  It's a bookshelf, right?"

Certainly doesn't apply to your bow, I can tell right off that's NOT a bookshelf!  Attaboy!
