 this piece definitely had a serious pucker factor to it. raw Texas rock i received from cowboy . got it down to a half inch thick with the hammerstone and then went to the punch to finish up. one pass along the edge with a tine to remove deltas. 8 1/4" long, 2 3/8th" wide, .290" or 7.4mm thick. symmetry is off but im happy it stayed in one piece.

niiice!  I got some of that texas and it is some tough stuff.  Very nice work.  :)

I had that pucker factor going strong this morning on a 7" Dalton wannabe.....That factor soon left and turned into something else. :'(

Jamie, lookin real good on some tuff material, I  have a few pcs of the raw dull gray sandy feelin rock from Cowboy an I can stack it real quick if I ease off an wimp hit it :laugh:

thanks guys. got a buddy who wants to take it pig hunting. its overkill but if he wants to get that close and stick it in a pig i'll haft it up for him.

Awesome...I was with a friend walking the Ohio River banks in WV years ago and I walked past a 9 1/2 inch point that my buddy spotted. He had it looked at and was told it was a Turkey Tail point from Texas. It was a brown looking rock and was beautiful. The shape was exactly like your point except for the small notching near the base.

Very nice. I have always wanted but never attempted to knap a Solutrean blade! Well Done!  Sorry I haven't posted much lately I'm moving & been too busy to knap. Again well done on the blade!
