Suggestions on a shotgun?

I'm looking into getting a shotgun for hunting and hoped someone could post some suggestions on brands, types, etc.

I'm looking to use it for deer, and possibly turkey in the future. I can only use slugs for deer where I hunt. Of course money is not growing on trees here so I'd like to keep the price as low as possible but have an accurate, reliable gun.

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

for the best multi-purpose shotgun  the 870 is hard to beat
turkey hunting on the other hand,i like a gun made for that
i like my mossberg 835 ulti-mag turkey gun
its a little heavier than the 870,but it needs the mass to suck up the recoil from them 3 1/2" turkey magnum loads

Check out the Mossberg website for the specific model and the available configurations. Personally, I have never had a better shotgun than the plain jane Mossberg 500.

Remington 870, only shotgun ive ever used, its what my dad used, never failed me

I got a 1962 870 wingmaster, given to me from my dad.  still shoots beautifully, I also bought a new barrel for shooting slug shells. I do know mossberg has he same set-up and have a few friends with the model 500 and can't say anything bad about them either.

I've had my Rem 870 for close to 20 years now and it's been a great gun.  It's very well supported in the aftermarket too.

The Rem. 870 gets my vote too.  It's a workhorse.  I've shot over 300 rounds in a day shooting trap with no problems.  It's taken many deer, rabbits, a turkey, and a lot of nuisance animals.

I love it when I outshoot the younger wealthy guys with their fancy expensive guns at our yearly trap shoot.  Just for fun I'll swing it over to my left shoulder before putting them out.

Im gonna go with the Bennelli Super Nova good gun for a good price and it will shoot a 3 1/2" , 870 is a good gun too that would be my second choice

If you want to go on the CHEAP,, I just bought one of those pardner pump 12 gauges,,119.00$  it is a import but it seems to be ok,not as good as an 870,but it will work. I bought a High Standard 12 ga pump in 1978, that was built in the 1940s,,for 65.00$ it still works excellent. So pawn shops and individual sellers might be an opition

I have a Remington 870, Mossberg 500, and a Winchester 1300 with a slug barrel. All are good, reliable shotguns, and none of them will cost you an arm and a leg.
