Coral
« on: May 24, 2011, 03:48:31 pm »
My grandsons dad was doing some work at somebodies house the other day and part of the job was getting rid of all this rock. It turned out to be some really nice coral and they loaded it all for me and said give them a call and have some beer and they wil come unload it, too.You can't beat that kind of deal. I'm guessing there is about 600# all total.

Dang that's sweet!
That coral is some intriguing stuff. Wish sometimes I lived a little closer to some of it, but I'll keep the small skeeters we have in MO as opposed to the big ones down there!

Pretty much all raw coral is tough as nails, or ryolite. :D And not all of this is good. But it has some nice polyps and I'll still get quite a few spalls off this once I go beating on it when my finger heals better. Let me see how much of it is good and then I'll start spreading the wealth. ;) Pretty much the deal was I had to take it all, good or bad.
