Your Trade Bow is Finished!
« on: May 13, 2011, 01:38:48 pm »
Well this one is Mulberry, first time working with it, and I love the stuff. Length is 67" TtT, 50#@28". Rawhide backed (didn't really need it but I've been blowing a few lately and got nervous). Stained with rit. Buckskin handle, built up leather shelf, true oil and lacquer finish. Tips are fiddle back maple and horn. Reflexed a bit. has 0 string follow and no set to speak of.
This is the fastest bow I've made to date and she hits where I point it.
Had to do a lot of straitening to get this one in line.
This was a really fun bow to make and I hope the recipient has even half that much fun shooting it.
Should be on it's the way the first of next week!
Hope you enjoy it!!!

I love that strung and drawn profile, very well done.

Thanks guys. I will probably knock some of the shine off of it and give it a good rub down. I also forgot to get a strike plate put on. I'll do that tomorrow.

Thanks again everyone.
Okie64; it is red mulberry. I haven't run into too much white mulberry here unless it is in someone's yard. This one was growing in a fence row at my folks place. It is actually a branch from a good sized tree.
