April point of the month.. Post erm up
« on: March 28, 2011, 01:25:07 pm »
I guess we need some ideas 1st.
 Everyones pinetrees looked really good!!
Serrated Dalton would be a good one to follow up the pine tree i think.
The serrations are done the same way :)

Well I decided to get a start on the Dalton point and laid out four of my biggest flakes. Surprisingly I was able to get what I consider a decent Dalton for NC Rhyolite and my skill level. So I will go ahead and put it out here to start Aprils challenge. Can't wait to see all the great points to coming.

Thanks for the response Piper and Mullet.

Mullet, I hear ya. NC turkey season comes in on April 9th. I am mutating into the "obsessed turkey hunter"each day. At least that's what my wife says. ::)

That's awesome Lyman...I don't think you could get a better rock/point type match up than a Hardaway Dalton and Rhyolite combo.

thats a wicked piece of rhyolite.

jesse that is gorgeous. perfect rock and work.

heres one from some raw pedernales. having a real tough time getting clean serrations with the ulna. they are sharp as hell i just cant em clean looking. 3 1/2" long 3/16" thick. all hammerstone percussion, thin with a moose billet and dressed with the ulna as always.
