two osage bows (Fulldraw added)
« on: March 24, 2011, 10:45:59 pm »
Just finished up these two bows. They are both osage orange. The short one is an osage orange 43 inch long gull wing bow. 55lbs @ 22 inches. The other one is a modified Ca style flatbows with an arrow rest. Rawhide backed and its 60lbs @ 27 inches, 54 inches long from tip to tip. The arrows are a dozen arrows I posted in the arrows section as well as a couple of cane arrows and a few others.
I also just finished that work bench today! so im very happy with the results.

Very nice looking bows. Would like to see some draw pics, please.
Good looking bench as well. It will do you proud.

Very nice work...I intend to give one of those CA short bows a try once I get this Trade Bow wrapped up and shooting.

Love the bench, I need to make one for myself as well.  Your's looks pretty solid.

That setback handle in very nice. So you bent it that way? Either way, very nice. Nice work bench as well! I love the paint job and matching arrow paint job on the gull wing.

Thanks Lee: they are nice bows, kinda hard to aim because of the wide limbs aswell as some handshock, but they are beautiful designs. Gonna barely start on my trade bow :D
Thanks toomany: Yes sir I heat bent the handle and then deflexed the midlimb to reduce the hanshock, feels like it worked, although maybe if id leave it it would have been better because i wouldve gotten more speed.
Thanks John: yup been busy and will continue to be, got lots more bows to work on.
Thanks Rick: LOL that is true, that other table was very flimsy, its quake proof, lol. This one is very solid, im sure lots of good bows will be made there.
