Osage selfbow with Bullsnake Skins
« on: March 06, 2011, 09:32:23 pm »
Here is a nice little bow that I finished up a while back. It is an Osage Selfbow with Bulll snake skins. It is 61" long. 1-1/2" wide at the fades to mid limb then tapers to 7/16ths of an inch wide knocks.  53lbs. at 28". The skins came from "Rileyeconcrete". I think I like these better than diamond back skins as far as skins go. It has deer horn overlays in case I want to use fasflite on it.

Good job!  Very nice.   I like the style and the look.  Well done!
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?

I tend to agree with you on the skins, I'm gonna have to get myself a set (too bad they are not native to Michigan)

The bow has some real nice lines and I love the tiller.  The pile of wood in the background isn't too hard on the eyes either  ;D

Outstanding Bow Dean.  I like everything about it.  That tiller looks very fast too.  And I agree as well, in fact gopher/bull snakes are probably my favorite bow skin.

Yeah Dean I love it. That Bulllsnake looks great and the tiller is spot on too. I'm glad you shared this bow.
I think what makes skins like this so cool is that they are'nt as common on bows like rattlers. If I had rattlers around here I would be backing with them too but I guess I'll have to settle for copperheads and watersnakes. I have'nt seen any bullsnakes around here but as you know from the milksnake bow of mine we do have those.
Are you going to Ojam? If you are then bring this one allong so we can fondle its curves   Danny
