My 72" War Bow

Well, here she is. 72" long from nock to nock, 95#@30". I used 2 coats of Formby's tung oil finish and 3 coats of Tru-Oil for the finish. The horn nocks are cow horn from Justin and I added silk wrap set in super glue to ease the transition from limb to horn nock and to protect the soft yew from the string.  Here are a few pics....

Really nicely done, Pat.  Good for hunting geese from your picture. We'll look at it again for May Self Bow of the Month.

Don, let me get a real full draw pic this weekend. I'll post pics Sunday night.
  This was a fun(intimidating :o) project. I could never afford such a beautiful yew stave so when James insisted I take it as part of a trade, I knew I was going to build a war bow and give it back to him. I think he will be surprised. ;D    Pat

Can you say Tillering Tree. No, the tiller is great. The end of the month is only 8 days away and we need a full draw for BOM.  ;D  You did a great job on the bow.  I'm sure James it will make James's day.  Justin

    I guess I could get my wife to take a pic while I pull it on the tiller tree. Sheesh, you're an impatient lot! ;D
Hillbilly, that is what I was worried about at full draw. :o
 Badger, this kind of shooting and drawing is 180deg away from my normal stance. :o Just don't feel natural!

Beautiful looking bow, Pat.  I really like those elb style bows with horn nocks.  From pic so far the tiller looks to be right on.
