A linen backed red oak board

This bow was made for a trade with a hunter friend of mine. She harvested some caribou sinew from a hunt near the hydro dams in the centre/nothern part of Quebec. She wants a smooth bow for her father as payment. Back in the fall she brought me 8 moose legs to trade for another bow. I took them apart for the skin, sinew and marrow in the kitchen, my roomates are very tolerant people.
This is a red oak board, not too great grain with ok density, backed with unbleached linen cloth. It is 66" long, 30lbs at 28" of draw and 1¼" at its widest. The board had just under a quarter inch of deflex, the best looking grain being on that side. Ended up with a total of 1 inch of set for about 1¼" of string follow just after unbracing. The backing strip cuts off about 7 inches from the tips which are overlayed with pau ferro wood. Handle is moulded leather (what a pain) with a built up arrow rest and copper strike plate. Finish is store bought lard, wood strongly burnished.
My mom made the alpaca sweater.

Tips would have been thinner if the backing was long enough. Probably thin enough not to get hand shock from flinging store bought carbon or fibreglass arrows.
