new twistedlimbs Osage bow
« on: January 26, 2011, 11:04:36 pm »
Hey guys, been making bows, but nothing really special until today, i finished this twisty Osage bow. Made from kinda a junk piece that i turned into a sweet little bow.  its 64" long and 62#  @ 27".   Its very narrow in most spots, the bottom limb is just over an inch wide. It has a nice rounded belly and nice blended grip.  I am very pleased with the way this turned out, just smooth as glass, i love it.    Ipe tip overlays, chocolate deer leather grip and i sinewed the last 8" inches of both tips for a little added eye appeal and to cover up a little check i didn't like.    thanks for lookin- Ryan

Ha, that'd be crazy if the sinew shrunk as it does sometimes after a year or so and you ended of with a recurve,  ;D

Cool little bow, Ryan. It sure doesn't take much osage to make a hunting weight bow! Well done.

Cool bow!!! I love those bows that you're just not sure if it's gonna work, and you end up with an awesome bow full of character.

Good to see you pop up Ryan.  Been wondering how things were going with that cabin of yours.
Nice bow.
