need help with a list of good bow wood

I know that this might not help me out but i have to ask because i don't know what the best woods are for bow building are and my father asking about so he can have a bow.I have hear yew and Osage or some of the best bow woods it mostly depends on the person but what I'm asking is what is your top 5 favorite bow woods thanks you for answering me

Where do you live?  That will help us determine what woods grow near you. Any wood will make a bow if you design the bow considering the wood's properties...ie. tinsel and compression strengths.

I'd say you have red oak, white oak, hickory, hard maple, Eastern Red Cedar, locust and maybe some osage. Other woods would be cherry, black walnut, birch, ash, beech and probably lots of other suitable woods. Do a little research to see what you have growing locally. Your local Forestry Service, Cooperative Extension service, local loggers, tree services and landscapers can also be a source for information and possibly wood too.

there stationed in Norfolk
i always wanted a harley,untill it became the "thing to ride"

The order kind of depends on which wood I'm currently making a bow out of.  That one tends to be my favorite. ;D

these are my favs,but also the only woods i have used so far
i do have other woods saved that may become one of the top five once i try them,like mulberry and yew and locust

   Hickory will always be on my list of top 5 bow woods!  ;)
