Did a little rock run today. Did'nt find anything spectacular but being in a creek bed sure beats being on a jobsight. Found a point at work and got the fever ;D. I knew Tracy F was in Indiana so I got ahold of him aquired directons and off I went - thanks Tracy. This stuff is sharp, I left some blood in that creek ;).

Nice haul.  I love working that hornstone.  Most I ever saw was in nodules.

There was a little bit of everything in there - nodules, tabs, and lenses. Most all of it was so fractured that it was hard to find a big enough peice to keep. Those big tabs are nice looking but are gravel :). I suspect though, if a feller had time and some want too - he could do some digging and come up with some nice stuff..
 12:1 turkey tail, hmm.. think I'll work on a thebes ::).

Looks like it wasn't a complete wash and yes the little millitary shovel does a great job getting to the non freeze fractured nodules in the bank. Wish I could have joined you and helped find some better pieces to load up on. Beats work!

I'd like to say we'll hook up and do that again sometime Tracy, but there's no telling if i'll ever be back here. Like i said: if your in my part of the country and the planets align  ::). I'll take ya down where you can get a truck load of that perd, or is that concrete ;D?

Nice haul Cowboy and when I say there is nothing like getting ur own rock!  U appreciate it hauling heavy buckets back to the truck!  Next time I go I will take some pics...I had to leave some huge chunks of high grade Esopus in the river I tried my best to dig it out and no luck ...I hope to find it again when I go back!  One other thing that messes me up is that all the rocks have a coating of fine mud on them and all look the same color so unless u know the shape of the rock u are looking for u walk on past some quality stone...  Have a great day  Oh and by the way I wish I had perdenales everywhere here!
